Native World Languages Dying in Record Numbers - A Complete Solution is Needed

Perhaps, you too have heard of the critical problem with native peoples and their languages that have been passed on for many thousands of years, only to be forgotten and the world become more Global? What can be done, as this is a critical problem? Well, a lot is being done, but some say that it is not happening fast enough.=
Indeed, I am quite proud of the work many linguistics are doing to preserve languages throughout the world. Microsoft has done a lot to help document and preserve languages, this information should not be forgotten, it's valuable, both for inspiration and philosophical reasons. Enter cultures are now blending into oblivion and you are right this is an issue. Have you seen the TED speeches on this subject? It seems everyone who is a thinker sees this huge potential loss of culture and human history. Many believe that over 2,500 different and unique dialects will be lost in the next decade and a half and once lost, they will be lost forever. And what will be lost, important insight, culture and the essence of that civilization. See the problem. Luckily in the information age we can send scouts out to collect the known survivors who speak their old dialects and languages and get video logs and digitize this information, from this we can create the records to allow these cultural histories to live on. Not every culture has a large amount of written history, and much of this has been passed on verbally through each generation, so it would be a shame to lose it all now, as the world gets closer together.By Lance Winslow
